Exercises upon the Different Parts of Italian Speech

Exercises Upon the Different Parts of Italian Speech with References to Veneroni’s Grammar; To which is Added, An Abridgment of the Roman History, Intended at Once to Make the Learner Acquainted with History, and the Idiom of the Italian Language., by F Bottarelli. London: J Collingwood. 1822.

The first half of the book is filled with example sentences in English, with the corresponding Italian inserted interlinearly. The latter part of the book is a brief history of Rome in English, with the Italian words keyed and footnoted.

This volume extensively references “Veneroni’s Grammar” — but neglects to tell us which edition it is, whether the French-Italian one, or the later English translation.

I have no information about Bottarelli. He was apparently an Italian-English translator working in the late 1700′s. The first edition of this work was published about 1778.
