Roman Antiquities, and Ancient Mythology; for Classical Schools. By Charles K. Dillaway. Second Edition. Boston: Lincoln, Edmands & Co., 1833.
The first half of the book is a small social history of Rome and the Romans; the second half is the tourist’s guide to the Roman gods. ( “Tourist’s guide” = a paragraph for every deity mentioned.) Given the breakneck pace, I’d like to think it was aimed at the instructor rather than the students.
