This is a short biography of Sir Walter Scott, part of the English Men of Letters series edited by John Morley.
Richard H. Hutton (1826-1897) has a long list of titles at the Library of Congress, including Philosophers and Scientists and a biography of Cardinal John Newman. It appears that his main literary occupation, however, was as a contributor to The Spectator. Subjects include scientific and religious thought, and literary criticism.
