The Boston Terrier and All About It, by Edward Axtell. Battle Creek, Mich., The Dogdom Publishing Company [c1910]
2 p. l., [9]-138 p. front., plates. ports. 20 cm.

A book on the history, breeding and care of Boston Terriers — “The American Dog.”

Some things have changed since then (such as not allowing nearly-all-white), but the photos (so sorry for the quality) are useful to see how the breed became what it is today. Some of the dogs look downright modern. And cute.

Edward Axtell owned a kennel in Massachusetts and was an early developer of the Boston Terrier breed.
