Aether and Gravitation

title page

Aether and Gravitation, by William George Hooper, F. S. S. London: Chapman and Hall, Ltd., 1903.
xiii, 358 p. diagrs. 23 cm.

I’m not able to find out anything about Mr Hooper. The book is mentioned several times on the web, usually in Theosophical and, er, pyschoceramical contexts. Because of that (and because, while I have not read the book, it seems to say that the Michelson-Morley experiment proved the existence of aether), it has a provisional Kook attribute. Of course, the book itself may be accurate as of the time of its writing, and has only been coƶpted by the PCs. Therefore, the attribute may be changed if someone explains how this work isn’t crackpot.

(Just as an aside: The fountain at CWRU commemorating the M-M experiment makes an appearance in Doorways in the Sand, a book by Roger Zelazny.)
