Folk-Tales of Kashmir, by J. Hinton Knowles. 2d ed. London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co., Ltd., 1893.
xii, 510 p. 21 cm
Part of the Trübner Oriental Series.
James Hinton Knowles is not related to any of the J. Knowles currently in PG (as far as I can tell).
This book has dozens of stories collected by Knowles, and includes attribution to the native narrators. He wrote at least one other book on Kashmiri Proverbs, but other than that, I have no information about him.
There are footnotes, a glossary and an index.
