Charles Frederick Kroeh (1846-1928) wrote several books on learning languages, with titles like How to Think in French. He was affiliated with the Stevens Institute of Technology, but that’s all I can find out about him.
This is a small book of basic science in German to help American students learn to read the (19th century) language of science.
Includes a glossary, endnotes and a few diagrams.
