I am unable to find out much about Charles S. Brooks. It is possible he was the impetus behind the Cleveland Playhouse, or it may just be someone with the same name.
The essays in this book are amusing and light, and accompanied by whimsical illustrations.
According to Wheaton College, Journeys to Bagdad was Lewis’s first book-illustration commission.
