Modern Persia, by Rabbi Mooshie G. Daniel. Wheaton, Ill., Wheaton College Press, 1897.
xxiv, [17]-211 p. 12 pl. (incl. ports.) 19 cm.
This is the only book I’ve found by Mooshie G. Daniel (1861- ), although it was reprinted at least once (in 1901). Daniel was Assyrian with American theological training (he converted from Nestorianism to Presbyterianism).
The book is an overview of Persia-as-it-was in 1897. The book was intended to provide information about the area, culture and people for Christian missionaries. Therefore, it is not particularly objective in its rendering of the greater Islamic society.
Any assistance with transcribing/translating the bits on the title page would be most welcome.
