Lola, by Owen Davis. Illustrated with scenes from the photo-play produced and copyrighted by the World Film Corporation. New York: Grosset & Dunlap, ©1915. LCCN: 15015951.
Lola was originally a stage play in 1911.
In “Lola,’ a new play by the hitherto prolific melodramatist, Mr. Owen Davis, a struggling doctor is introduced who, after many years’ research, has perfected an instrument for bringing the dead to life. John Dorris, his daughter Lola’s fiance, is the first to take exceptions, urging that though the heart might be stimulated to renewed action the soul would already have passed, so the thought is “horrible” to him.

This book is a version of the movie made in 1914, also called “Lola.” The movie was later reissued as “Without a Soul.”
